Community · Local Food

Great food starts with great ingredients — and in Fort Worth, some of the best are grown just down the road. We recently teamed up with Conundrum Farms in Crowley to celebrate our city’s local food scene and show what fresh, seasonal produce can become in the right hands. It’s a small collaboration with a big idea behind it: when you cook with what’s grown nearby, everyone wins — the grower, the cook, and the community at the table.

Why we partnered with Conundrum Farms

Conundrum Farms is a regenerative, low-till community farm just fifteen minutes from downtown Fort Worth. Beyond growing healthy produce, it’s a gathering place — rooted in community, connection, and the simple idea that good food brings people together. The team there works to bring fresh, locally grown produce to more tables across the area, often partnering with nonprofits and volunteers to do it. We’re proud to support that mission and to help show why local, seasonal ingredients are worth celebrating. Learn more about Conundrum Farms →

Turning fresh produce into vegetable sushi

To put that produce in the spotlight, our Program Director, Chef Ethan Starr, took a selection of Conundrum’s farm-fresh vegetables and transformed them into beautiful, delicate vegetable sushi. It’s a great example of what happens when quality ingredients meet real technique — and a reminder of how far fresh produce can go when it’s handled with care. Watch him in action below.

Watching local produce travel from the field to a finished plate is exactly why we love what we do. When you start with ingredients at their peak and add a little skill, the food speaks for itself — and that’s the kind of hands-on cooking our students practice every day.
