Our students and staff did an amazing job collecting donations for The Center of Hope. Last week Chef Starr and I, along with one of our student chefs, were able to deliver the 250+ pounds of donations and tour the facility. We believe in supporting and uplifting our community and are beyond proud of all that the Center of Hope offers to uplift and support the residents of Parker County. Not only were we able to see their brand-new kitchen, but we also learned about the education and job training offered. All of the behind-the-scenes work is just as amazing as what is showcased through the drive-thru grocery pick up and Hope Chest resale store. If you need a hand up or have a hand to serve The Center of Hope is there.
Special thanks to Lyndsie Montgomery for taking the time to show us all CoH has to offer and how our donations would be put to use. I also want to say thank you to our students and staff. They went above and beyond the call to donate time and resources to this organization that is dear to my heart. At The Culinary School of Fort Worth, we pride ourselves on being family oriented, and I am proud to call each of you family!
Parker County Center of Hope programs offer real solutions out of poverty by providing long-term holistic approaches that lead individuals to a path of economic independence and improved quality of life. This is done through basic assistance services including the food pantry, adult education classes, career development programs, family empowerment and individual support and relationship-building through life coaching and advising. They have collaborated with over 70 churches, 50 businesses and countless individuals who all play an integral part in providing these solutions. The Hope Chest upscale resale shop, located on the south side of Center of Hope’s building, also offers 6-month internships to individuals who have participated in the Center’s Jobs for Life program.
