The cook at Azores Craft Sausages & Charcuterie will be exposed to Old World cooking techniques using electric mixers, grinders, stuffers, smoker, vacuum chamber, immersion circulator, pizza oven and much more.
The cook’s responsibilities include following instructions and recipes relating to production of sauces, breads, pizza dough, sausages, cured meats, dry aged and smoked products. You should also be able to ensure that all refrigerators, freezers, equipment's and working stations are kept clean and organized.
To be successful as a cook, you should be able to use various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. Ultimately, a top-notch cook should be able to handle multiple food orders without compromising on quality.
Responsibilities

CookLearnGrow is a professional children’s Food Literacy and Cooking program providing superior food education curriculum and hands-on instruction where students gain self-confidence, academic reinforcement, life skills for a healthy lifestyle, and a whole lot of fun! Since 2013, we’ve taught over 4,000 kiddos to cook in five major US cities! Come teach with us! This is a FUN and REWARDING part-time, seasonal job.
Afterschool shifts are typically 2-5pm, with the potential to work Monday-Friday up to 15 hours a week for 8-14 weeks. Summer shifts are typically 5-6 hours per camp day, with some camps in the morning and some camps in the afternoon. Weekday evening shifts are typically from 5-8pm, once a week for several weeks or more depending on the courses taught.
This position teaches real cooking and pastry methods such as knife skills, working with dough, cracking eggs, using hot burners, ovens, measuring, mixing, and more. The position has many steps in the process, requiring clear-mindedness, high responsibility, and ability to think ahead. Organization and timing are the keys to success. This is a mobile position which means instructors drive to schools and facilities we teach in. We work in amazing cities where traffic is part of life and must be accounted for.
