POSITION DESCRIPTION: Prepares food items according to recipes and standards
REPORTS TO: Sous Chef/Executive Chef
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Gathers all supplies and small wares needed in service prep area
• Sets up service units with required items (hot & cold stations)
• Prepares items that are ordered in accordance with established portion and presentation standards
• Notifies Sous Chef/Chef of expected shortages
• Ensures work area and equipment are clean and sanitary
• Assists the Sous Chef in maintaining safety and security in the kitchen
• Sets up, maintains and breaks down prep station
• Requisitions items needed to produce menu items
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
• Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable
• Assists in the plating of meals for special events
• Ensures proper temperature and quality is maintained for all food items
SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment
• Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Chef
• May assist Sous Chef/Chef in supervising less senior cooks/dishwashers/other food preparation personnel
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• High School diploma preferred
• 2 Years culinary studies or 2 years experience in food service preparation
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of general baking and food preparation techniques in a high volume food service kitchen
• Knowledge of general quantity, weight & volume measurements needed to prepare food

Line cooks are responsible for their stations and light prep / stocking. This is a fast paced position with somewhat simple processes. Must speak English and MUST WORK WELL WITH OTHERS.
Perp cook is responsible for daily par levels for any items that can be made in advanced. MUST be able to follow a recipe and understand portions and measurements. Multi tasking is very important. May be some light line cook assistance when the line is overloaded. Currently, currently there is some light baking involved. MUST WORK WELL WITH OTHERS.

Job description
The Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center located in Grapevine Texas has an opening for a PM line cook. We have 1 full service restaurant, one Sports Bar Restaurant, Conference Dining room, and Room service. Positions can be full time or part time according to your schedule needs.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products on the line stations
Maintain a clean work station
Assist in the daily cleaning of the cooking line
Requirements for consideration:
2 year of previous experience in high volume hotel kitchen, or full service restaurant .
Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks.
Food Handler Certification
Ability to multitask in a fast paced kitchen.
Flexible schedule, able to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
